Ian Langohr

Ian Langohr graduated from the Sculpture and Installation program at the Ontario College of Art and Design in 2008. Immediately following that he worked in the Mascot Industry in Toronto, learning the craft of costume making and prop design.

Moving to Montreal in 2009 he began designing costumes at home and slowly building up a personal portfolio of masks and props that blended pop art and surrealism. Inspiration was drawn from horror and sci-fi films as well as contemporary cartoon characters and lowbrow illustration.

Ian currently works from his studio in Montreal where his time is split between working on his own costume ideas, taking commissions to help other artists bring their ideas to life and working on a series of intricate ink drawings.

Ian has also developed a separate stream of work that involves interactive costumes that he brings to festivals and shows to entertain and amuse both children and adults.
